What are the discounts for children?

We will be very happy to welcome our young hikers! We can provide you with a triple or quadruple room.

In this case, we grant :

- free of charge for children from 0 to 2 years old (without meals) who share a room with 2 adults paying the full rate of a double room .

- 50% discount for children from 3 to 11 years old (child meal) who share a room with 2 paying adults at the full rate of a double room .

- 20% discount for children between 12 and 17 years old who share a room with 2 adults paying the full rate of a double room.

These discounts cannot be granted if you choose 2 double rooms. In this case the full rate will be charged to each participant.

What health security measures are in place in hotels ?

We travel by car : where can we leave the car for the lenght of the hike?

You can leave your car at the first hotel for the lenght of your stay.

The last day, how do we reach our car remained at the first hotel?

The last day, you will be able to ask the hotel  to retrieve your car remained at the first hotel. The hotel will give you this service for free and volunteer.

We travel by train : what is the nearest train station to the first hotel?

This is the Colmar Train Station.

How is shuttle from the train station to the First Hotel

Simply send us your arrival time in Colmar train station. We would organise the taxi.

The driver will wait in the main hall of the station with a sign Horizons d'Alsace. He will drive you to the first hotel.

What time can we check in at the first hotel?

From 15.00 to 19.00. In case of delay,  please call the first hotel.

How do we get Our Hiking Guide?

Your hiking guide consists of a drawning map and daily descriptive cards that would be issued on arrival at the first hotel.

What shall we take ?

We suggest you take:

  •  No Brand new walking shoes,
  •  a small backpack cooler to carry your picnic and stuffed for the day,
  •  raincover,
  •  a hat or cap,
  •  a swimsuit to enjoy the pool in some hotels,
  •  a small pharmacy needed
  • a reusable water bottle, cutlery and salad container.

What about the Luggage?

Your luggage will be transported from hotel to hotel by your host, in the late morning or later in the afternoon.

We ask you to place them in the lobby of each accommodation in the morning before starting your hike and provide only one bag per person not exceeding 15 to 20 kg.

What do we get for lunches?

Examples of composition packed lunch, not contractual:

Smoked trout fillet, cheese, caramel cream, bread

or

Sandwiches ham + cheese, tomatoes, fruit, bread

or

cooked smoked ham, potato salad, fruit, bread

or

cold meat, salad, pudding, bread

And for Dinner?

Here are some examples of dinner composition, not contractual:

Vineyard salad, Baeckaoffa, the Alsatian tart House

or

Scrambled eggs, trout with Riesling, iced kougelhopf

or

Ham and salad, puff salmon with mousseline sauce, sorbet

Lobster gratin, sauerkraut, dessert

What is the difference between a half board dinner and a Gastronomique dinner?

Dinner ½ board is composed of a starter, a main course and a dessert.

The gourmet dinner is composed of a starter, 2 dishes, cheese and dessert.

I do not want the lunch baskets.

We will send you a prosposal and the rate without the lunch basket.

I am vegetarian or vegan.

Please let us know at time of booking and we will inform the hotels. A vegetarian or vegan dinner will be offered. Note, however, that we are not specialized in this kitchen but we will do our best to satisfy you.

I have food allergies or intolerances.

Please let us know at time of booking and we will inform the hotels.

Traveling with my dog.

Please let us know at time of booking. A small fee of 6€ per dog and per night will be charged.

The hiking routes presented seems too difficult for me. May I ask an alternative?

Yes, we can offer a circuit excluding walks you consider too difficult for you.

Along your stay, you will be able to lengthen or shorten the suggested routes. You will have the hiking map.

And if it rains?

Some raindrops will make you like the cozy comfort of your hotel. However, we advise you to provide good waterproof equipment. But if it were raining all day, it will be possible to be taken to your vehicle remained at the hotel in order to arrange a visit in the region and to reach the next step with your car.

Do I combine holidays?

Yes it is quite possible. Following your request, we will send you a proposal.

Do I change stays at my convenience?

Wherever possible we will access your modification.

Do I include a rest day during the stay?

Just let us know at time of booking and we will send you a proposal and price including a rest day.

How to book a tour?


You can book using the reservation form which you will find on our website. After receiving your reservation request, we will send you a detailed proposal. You will then have to confirm your reservation by paying a deposit of € 100 per person.

You can pay your deposit when sending the reservation form via a secure page of our website or after having received our proposal.

How to pay for my stay?

The balance of your stay must be paid 30 days before your arrival. A stay not paid within these deadlines may be canceled without reminder, the deposit remaining acquired for the association.

In the case of registration within 30 days of your arrival, a global payment is required.

Payment can be made by check via a French bank made out to HORIZONS D'ALSACE or by bank transfer net of fees for HORIZONS D'ALSACE or by bank card on a secure page using a link that we will send to you.
